Your Clothes Make Your Performance

Far too many athletes underestimate the power their training outfits have over their ultimate performance in competition. While you might not be going to the Olympics when the time comes, when you represent yourself you need to be at your best. Part of being at your best involves performing in the kind of clothes that will help you instead of hindering you. You don’t need to be the pinnacle of fashion, but you can still look good while you train.

Take Nike clothes, for instance. There’s a reason Nike was named for the goddess of victory. When you wear a good, breathable outfit when you work out, you don’t have to worry about being bogged down by something heavy and stifling. Your outfit needs to feel like an extension of your body if you’re going to be successful while you’re wearing it. Otherwise, you’ll experience a bad time when you’re on the field. You don’t want to become a cliche about how the clothes make the man. If your clothes allow you to keep cool when you’re working out, you’re on the right track.

Just like your shoes, your entire outfit needs to be able to keep up with your natural ability level and your drive to outperform. Being able to promise the Moon doesn’t mean an outfit can perform up to your needs. So don’t accept any outfit’s marketing blindly. Always try it on before you buy, and never buy more than a couple of untested workout outfits at a time. When it comes to wearing the right type of clothes when you train, don’t settle for half-hearted gear.
